Continuing Education Courses
National Forensic Nursing Institute (NFNI) Continuing Education Courses are provided through agreements with hospitals, communities, or organizations. Below is a list of current continuing education courses offered by the NFNI. Individual courses can be customized to meet the need of the particular community. Adult/Adolescent SANE
This five day comprehensive course is designed to provide the health care provider with the didactic information to complete the assessment, diagnose, evaluate, and treat, the Adult/Adolescent sexual assault patient. Part of the course will include the identification, preservation, collection, and transmission of forensic evidence and courtroom testimony.
Pediatric SANE
This five day comprehensive course is designed to provide the health care provider with the didactic information to complete the assessment, diagnose, evaluate, and treat, the pediatric sexual assault/abuse patient. Part of the course will include the identification, preservation, collection, and transmission of forensic evidence and courtroom testimony. Participants should have completed an adult/adolescent SANE course.
Introduction to Forensic Nursing
This two day course provides an introduction to the fundamental components of forensic nursing. Topics covered include:
